We are delighted to see so many of our clients mentioned in the Best of 2023 lists this year!
Wild Song (David Fickling Books) by Candy Gourlay was featured in Bookshop.org’s “Best Children’s Books of 2023” and The Guardian’s “Best Children’s and YA books of 2023” lists, along with Malorie Blackman’s Power of Stories exhibition at the British Library and The Taming of the Cat (Faber) written and illustrated by Helen Cooper.
The Taming of the Cat also received a mention in The Times, iNews and The New Statesman, who called it “children’s book of the year and a new classic”.
iNews’ list also featured Penguin Huddle (Walker) illustrated by Sarah Warburton and written by Ross Montgomery, in their “20 Best Children’s Books for Christmas 2023”.
The BookTrust compiled their Great Books Guide 2023 which included A Different Kind of Freedom: A Romani Story, written by Richard O’Neill for the Scholastic Voices series edited by Tony Bradman. Whose Dog is This? (Macmillan Children’s Books) written by Andrew Sanders and illustrated Aysha Awwad was also featured in BookTrust’s “Books We Love in December 2023”.
The Independent named The Snowman & The Snowman and the Snowdog audiobook (Tonies), adapted from the classic stories by Raymond Briggs (Puffin), as the Best Audio Christmas Book.
Ten-Word Tiny Tales (Walker), written by Joseph Coelho and featuring illustrations from Helen Stephens, was named one of Kirkus Reviews’ “Best Picture Books for 2023” and was also included in Toppsta’s “The 100 Must-Read Children’s Books from 2023” along with Barney the Horse (HaperCollins) and Every Little Hippo Can (Orchard), both illustrated by Guy Parker-Rees.
