THE LEHMAN TRILOGY announces 2023 West End Return

News

The National Theatre and Neal Street Productions have confirmed that the production, which began life in London, will have a second West End run early next year.

The Lehman Trilogy, Ben Power’s adaptation of the play by Stefano Massini, which charts the rise and fall of the American banking dynasty, was among the biggest winners at the 2022 Tony awards in New York. Sam Mendes picked up best director, while Es Devlin won best scenic design, Simon Russell Beale won his first Tony for best actor and Jon Clark won best lighting design. The production also won best play.

Power’s English translation of the play opened at the National Theatre in 2018 – the original Italian version had already run in Milan – before transferring to New York’s Park Avenue Armory in 2019.

It later played at the West End’s Gielgud Theatre and, following the Covid lockdown, completed a run on Broadway. No theatre, casting or specific dates have yet been confirmed for the play’s West End return.
