Bethan was born in a very normal village in the Midlands, but through some strange twist of fate found herself being raised in Hungary, Uganda and Brunei, before landing in the even stranger world of Norwich in her 20’s. She uses these experiences in her work, which uses her wide cultural experiences to explore the darker side of the female experience. She loves to write about female sexuality, friendship and ambition, through often absurd, often funny, but always a little sinister, genre elements.

Having graduated from the University of East Anglia in 2018, Bethan started out working in publishing for several years and writing screenplays at night. Her efforts led her to win the Flickers of the Future Competition, an environmental writing contest patronised by Richard Curtis and run by the charity Global Action Plan. Her script KEEPERS, a romantic comedy about Competitive Beekeeping, was developed in association with Carnival Films and was written with mentorship from Alice Lowe. This also led to her create an environmental awareness campaign with MTV, Bonking for Britain.

Following this experience, Bethan applied to the National Film and Television School where she graduated in 2023, winning the NFTS Popcorn Prize for her black comedy crime script The Widow Making Syndicate. Whilst at film school she developed two features, two pilots and two short films which are currently on the festival circuit. She is now developing further original ideas and planning a nursery for her future Daschund (who shall be called Werner.)
