David White is an internationally respected Musical Director, Musical Supervisor, Conductor and Orchestrator, whose work spans award-winning original West End productions, major UK producing theatres, and leading opera houses across Europe and beyond.
Recent work includes: Fisherman’s Friends the Musical (UK Tour and Toronto, Canada), Cabaret (Göteborg Opera), The Famous Five (Theatr Clwyd and Chichester Festival Theatre), Musical Director of The Hundred-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Through the Window and Disappeared (Wermland Opera, 2023/24), and Conductor for Chicago at Malmö Opera (2025). Forthcoming work includes Musical Director and Arranger for Lucky Stiff at Wermland Opera.
Orchestration credits include: Cabaret (Göteborg Opera), The Assassination of Katie Hopkins (Theatr Clwyd), A Celebration of Richard Rodgers on Broadway: Act III (Wigmore Hall, for the Nash Ensemble), Sunset Boulevard (English National Opera), Top Hat (Malmö Opera), From Here to Eternity (West End), Shrek, Crazy for You and Candide (Wermland Opera), Mulan (Singapore Repertory Theatre), Something Rotten! David continues to teach Musical Directors on the Musical Theatre course at the Royal Academy of Music, where he is a Fellow. He is also the Founder of the Swedish Musical Theatre Network (SMTN), developing new models of collaboration between the UK and Swedish musical theatre industries, and supporting the creation and international exchange of new work.
