Joel has previously been shortlisted for the C21 Script Competition and was a finalist in the Writerslam Amazon Audible screenwriting competition. This led to his first commission by Audible. He has worked on an original developments with Tall Story Pictures and Character 7. He was commissioned to write an episode of Sexy Beast for Paramount+.

Joel’s writing career has been built with passion alongside a Script Editing career. He started in development at Playground Entertainment, where he supported the slate and assisted in the writer’s rooms for All Creatures Great and Small (C5) and The Undeclared War (C4). He ventured into Script Editing working on The 39 Steps for Netflix and Sexy Beast for Paramount+ at AC Chapter One, and on Danny Brocklehurst’s Ten Pound Poms (S2/BBC One) for Eleven Film. Alongside these opportunities, he works in TV commissioning.
