Grace is a Glasgow-based writer working across several different media – her credits so far include TV, theatre, radio and Virtual Reality.
She is currently one of eight recipients of the High-end Television Levy Writers’ Bursary Scheme under the mentorship of Kay Mellor. Her episode of BBC Three’s The Break, Gloss (2018), has been nominated for Best Short Form Drama for the Broadcast Digital Awards 2019, and her BBC VR film is due to be released on the BBC’s new VR app this year. Her 60 minute audio drama for Big Finish’s Dark Shadows range is also due for release this year. She has completed two BBC Radio commissions including a five minute monologue, After Exile, for Radio 3 starring Julie Hesmondhalgh (2017 – also available on iPlayer). She has recently been asked to produce treatments for The Comedy Unit, the BBC’s new VR commissioner, and Big Finish’s Torchwood range. She has just been commissioned to write a 30 minute episode for Big Finish’s Doctor Who: Short Trips range.
She had her first professional stage credit in 2015 with How to Cheat, and Be a Winner! At Cambridge Junction Theatre, and since then has had extracts from her plays performed at various paid events at Glasgow’s Tron Theatre and London’s Jermyn Street Theatre. Last year, she was selected to be one of ten writers on BBC Writersroom Scotland’s first ever writing retreat aimed at generating ideas for children’s drama, and was a member of the Scottish Book Trust’s highly competitive BBC Radio Lab.
